A spiral vortex tip cleanses, exfoliates and extracts in one pass, then delivers serums into freshly cleared skin. The extraction is the part that matters. It is suction rather than squeezing, which is why it clears congestion without leaving the marks manual extraction can.
The result is immediate and it is real. Skin is cleaner, smoother, better hydrated and reflects light properly, which is what people mean by glow.
It is also temporary, and we would rather say so. A Hydrafacial looks its best for about a week to ten days. It does not build collagen, fade established pigmentation or change skin structure. Anyone selling it as anti-ageing is overselling it.
Syndeo is the current generation of the Hydrafacial platform. It stores your skin profile and treatment history, so the protocol that worked for you is repeated exactly rather than reinvented each visit, detects which serum is loaded to avoid errors, and runs LED hands-free as part of the sequence. It is a better-run version of the same treatment, not a different one. You will see plenty of “hydrafacial” offers in Sydney using other machines; if the device is not a Hydrafacial, the treatment is not either.

For a change in pigment, texture or lines, a medical peel, pico laser or microneedling does the work a Hydrafacial cannot. Many patients use a Hydrafacial to keep skin clear between those treatments, which is a sensible way to use it.
It will not treat established pigmentation, acne scarring, laxity or wrinkles. Those need a different treatment and a different conversation.

Genuine Hydrafacial in Sydney runs from roughly $225 for an entry protocol at nurse-led clinics to around $400 for the full protocol. Ours sits at the upper end of that range because it is performed in a doctor-led clinic on the current Syndeo platform with genuine tips and serums, and because the appointment is the length it needs to be.

Hydrafacials at TCMA are performed by our skin team under the clinical oversight of Dr Amy Chahal, cosmetic physician. The practical difference is what happens when a Hydrafacial is not the answer: if your congestion is actually inflammatory acne, or your dullness is pigmentation, you are in a clinic that can diagnose it and treat it properly rather than booking you for another facial.
If you have come to us about pigmentation, scarring or lines, a Hydrafacial is not the answer and booking one instead would waste your money. It is a skin-clarity treatment, not a corrective one.
Active inflammatory acne, sunburn, active rosacea flares, cold sores, current or recent isotretinoin, and some recent treatments are reasons to wait. All procedures carry some risk, including temporary redness, tightness or a mild breakout as congestion clears. Individual results vary.
Roughly a week to ten days for the visible glow. The improvement in congestion lasts longer and builds with monthly treatment. It is a maintenance treatment by nature.

Sensitive skin generally does well because there is no manual extraction and the serums can be adjusted. Rosacea between flares is usually fine; during a flare we wait. Mild congestion and comedonal acne respond well; active inflammatory acne needs medical treatment first.
