Bespoke facial at TCMA in Surry Hills

Bespoke Facial

Built around your skin on the day · no fixed protocol

Not a menu item. Your therapist assesses your skin at the appointment and builds the treatment from what it needs that day, which changes with the season, your cycle, stress and what you have been using.

Assessed before it is recommended. If it is not the right treatment for you, we will say so.

Why it is not a fixed treatment

Most clinics sell facials as fixed protocols with fixed names. The problem is that skin is not fixed. The same face in February and August wants different things, and a protocol chosen weeks ago on a booking page cannot know that.

Here your therapist looks at your skin, asks what has changed, and selects cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, actives and finishing steps accordingly. Some days that means a deep clean. Other days it means doing considerably less.

It is a skin-health treatment rather than a corrective one. It will leave your skin clean, calm and better hydrated. It will not treat pigmentation, scarring or laxity, and we would rather you spent the money elsewhere if that is your goal.

How it compares to the other options

People often book a facial when they want something a facial cannot do. This is the honest comparison.

If your concern is The facial will Better suited
Dullness or congestion Do the job well
Deep congestion, monthly upkeep Help, but less thoroughly Hydrafacial
Pigmentation Not touch it Pico laser
Texture or scarring Improve surface only Microneedling
Laxity or lines Do nothing for it Sofwave or Morpheus8

If you book a facial and we think you need something else, we will tell you at the appointment rather than take the money quietly.

What it is used for

What to expect, realistically

  1. On the dayYour skin is assessed first, then the treatment is built. Expect to be asked what has changed since last time.
  2. Straight afterClean, calm, hydrated skin. No downtime. Occasionally mild redness for an hour.
  3. Days 1 to 7Skin looks its best in this window. Congestion continues to settle.
  4. OngoingMonthly suits most people. Less often is fine — it simply does less.

Fees

Quoted at your assessment, since the treatment is built to your skin rather than sold as a fixed package.

When we would not recommend it

If you have come to us about pigmentation, scarring, laxity or lines, a facial will not deliver it. We will say so and point you at what will.

Active infection, sunburn and some recent treatments are reasons to wait.

All medical procedures carry risk, and individual results vary. Suitability is determined at assessment, not on the phone.

Common questions

How is it different from a Hydrafacial?

A Hydrafacial follows a set device protocol and is very good at extraction. A bespoke facial is built by hand around what your skin needs that day. Different tools, different logic.

Can I have it before an event?

Yes. Two to three days beforehand is ideal, though same-day is usually fine.

Will there be extractions?

If your skin needs them and can tolerate them. Not automatically.

How often should I come?

Monthly is a common rhythm for maintenance. We will be honest if you do not need it that often.

Is it suitable in pregnancy?

Usually, with actives selected accordingly. Tell us and we will adjust.

Will it help my acne?

It can support treatment, but moderate or severe acne needs medical management. We will refer rather than treat it cosmetically.

A good place to start

If you are not sure what your skin needs, this is a low-commitment way to have it looked at properly by someone who will tell you the truth.
