Skin concerns

Doctor-led assessment · Surry Hills, Sydney

Start with what is actually bothering you, rather than with a treatment you have read about. Each of these explains what the concern usually is, what tends to help, and what a realistic result looks like.

  • 01Skin imaging, so the answer is specific
  • 02A doctor-led clinic with a qualified dermal therapy team
  • 03A staged plan in writing, including what to leave alone

What is bothering you?

Plenty of people have more than one of these at once, and they often interact. If you are not sure where you sit, start with a consultation and we will work it out together.

Skin tone and texture

Why we start here rather than with a treatment

Most people arrive asking about a specific device, usually because a friend had it or it kept appearing on their feed. Sometimes that instinct is right. Often the device is excellent and simply not the one that particular concern needs.

Working from the concern backwards avoids that. It also tends to be cheaper, because it stops you paying for treatments that were never going to address what is actually happening.

Every one of these pages includes what we would not recommend as well as what we would.

Why you will not find before and after photographs here

Three reasons, in order of how much they matter.

They are easy to make misleading without ever lying. Change the lighting, the angle, the lens, whether someone is smiling, whether they are wearing makeup — and a treatment that did very little can be made to look transformative. Once you know how much of the difference is photography, galleries stop being evidence.

They are unrepresentative by design. Clinics publish their best cases. Nobody publishes the average one, and nobody publishes the one that did not work. That sets an expectation most people will not meet, and then a genuinely good result feels like a disappointment.

They belong to someone else. Every one of those photographs is a real person who came to a clinic privately. Advertising rules around this are strict in Australia, and we think rightly so.

What we do instead is image you. Standardised 3D imaging at your first appointment, and again as you go — your own face, same lighting, same position, measured rather than remembered. It is the only comparison that tells you anything real, and it is the one you will be looking at during your review.

Not sure which one you are?

That is a completely normal place to start. A consultation includes imaging and a clear explanation of what we are seeing, before anything is suggested.
