Congestion
Blackheads and whiteheads can leave skin feeling bumpy. A skin assessment and review of your routine can help identify suitable next steps.
Acne care · Surry Hills, Sydney
When the breakouts keep coming, another product can feel like another guess.
You do not need to have it all worked out. At TCMA, we listen to what you have tried, assess your skin and help you understand whether complexion care or medical advice is the right place to begin.
Complexion Consultation: $100 deposit, redeemable against treatment only. Medical assessment with Dr. Amy is also available.

Acne treatment in Sydney
Acne can include blackheads, whiteheads and inflamed spots. It may continue into adulthood or begin later in life. The pattern and severity help guide care; the location of a breakout alone does not tell us its cause.
Blackheads and whiteheads can leave skin feeling bumpy. A skin assessment and review of your routine can help identify suitable next steps.
Sore, deep, persistent or scarring acne warrants medical assessment. Facials are not a substitute for appropriate medical care.
Tell us if breakouts vary with your cycle or have changed during perimenopause. Your wider history matters when deciding what to investigate.
If acne is painful, leaving scars or affecting how you feel, you do not need to wait until it is worse to seek medical advice. Your GP or a dermatologist can also help.
A conversation, without judgement
The products that helped for a while. The routine that now stings. The treatment you are unsure about trying again. These details help us understand what you need from your care.
We will talk through your priorities and the options, including when medical care is more appropriate than an in-clinic skin treatment. You can ask questions before deciding.
The options, explained
A plan may include skincare, medical management or selected complexion treatments. What belongs in yours depends on your assessment, current medicines and how your skin is responding.
Recovery and risks depend on the procedure. These may include irritation, redness, pigment changes or other complications, which are discussed before treatment. Explore all services.
A plan you can follow
Review your skin, treatment history, medicines and everyday routine. Agree on priorities.
Know what to use, what to expect and when medical care or a suitable treatment is recommended.
Discuss your response and any concerns before changing or adding treatment.
Acne care takes time. We agree on review timing rather than promise a date for clear skin.
Your everyday routine
Gentle cleansing, suitable moisturiser and sun protection can support your skin. Frequent product changes, harsh scrubbing and picking may make irritation or marks worse.
Bring your products or photographs of the labels. We can help you make sense of the routine you already have. Do not stop prescribed treatment without advice from your prescriber.
Flat brown marks, lingering redness and indented scars need different approaches. Once active acne is addressed, we can discuss what remains.

Acne can occur at different ages. Patterns, contributing factors and treatment needs can change, but adult acne is not automatically a separate condition. Assessment helps guide your care.
A suitable facial may help with some congestion concerns. It is not a reliable replacement for medical management of persistent, inflamed or scarring acne.
Do not assume worsening is simply “purging”. Contact your treating practitioner if your skin becomes more painful, irritated or inflamed, or you develop new symptoms. They can advise whether your plan needs to change.
It depends on the type of acne and the treatment. Improvement may take weeks to months. Your review is a chance to assess progress and tolerance, rather than keep repeating an unsuitable approach.
Yes, for advice. Tell us about all current and recent medicines before any procedure; they can affect suitability. Bring details of the care you are receiving elsewhere.
You can book an assessment. Tell us about pregnancy, breastfeeding and hormonal changes so recommendations can be tailored. Some treatments are unsuitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
