ZO Stimulator Peel treatment at TCMA

CHOOSING YOUR PEEL

Stimulator or 3-Step?

The best choice depends on what you want to improve, your skin history and how much recovery time suits your life. More peeling does not automatically mean a better result for your skin.

ZO Stimulator Peel

A superficial peel using glycolic, lactic and citric acids to exfoliate the skin. It can help improve the appearance of dullness, rough texture and uneven tone.

A useful option for a gentle refresh or ongoing skin maintenance. Significant visible peeling is not usually expected, although temporary sensitivity or redness can occur.

ZO 3-Step Peel

A more intensive peel combining an exfoliating solution, retinol step and supporting aftercare. It can improve the appearance of uneven tone and texture.

This option needs more planning: your preparation routine, visible recovery and aftercare are part of the treatment. We assess whether it is appropriate for your skin before proceeding.

At a glance Stimulator Peel 3-Step Peel
Main focus Freshness, dullness and surface texture More intensive tone and texture resurfacing
Visible recovery Usually minimal; sensitivity is possible Expect several days of peeling; allow flexibility in your schedule
Preparation Your current routine and skin are assessed A prescribed preparation plan may start several weeks ahead
Ongoing care Can be considered for maintenance Review healing and response before further treatment

A peel within your longer-term skin plan

Skin treatments work best when they have a clear purpose. At your consultation, we discuss what bothers you, review your skincare and consider where a peel fits into your priorities for ageing well.

You might begin with the Stimulator Peel, plan a 3-Step Peel when you have recovery time, or choose another treatment after assessment. Your plan can evolve as your skin and goals change.

Discuss exfoliation, skincare and treatment options for a smoother-looking, fresher complexion.

Preparation, treatment and recovery

Before treatment

Tell us about your skincare, medications, recent procedures, pregnancy or breastfeeding, cold sores and previous reactions. Bring your routine to the consultation. Follow your individual instructions on which products to pause; do not change prescribed medication without medical advice.

During treatment

Your practitioner checks your skin and explains the chosen peel and aftercare. Tingling, warmth or stinging may occur. Let your practitioner know how your skin feels throughout the appointment.

After treatment

Expect different recovery with each peel. With 3-Step, peeling can begin a few days afterwards and continue for several days. Follow the supplied cleansing, moisturising and sun-protection instructions. Avoid picking or scrubbing flaking skin.

We advise when to restart active skincare, makeup, exercise and other treatments. If you have an important event, tell us before booking so we can allow enough time for your skin to settle.

Suitability and possible risks

Peels can cause redness, stinging, dryness and sensitivity. Less common complications include pigment changes, infection, prolonged irritation and scarring. Active infection, broken or sunburnt skin and an impaired skin barrier may mean postponing treatment. We discuss your individual risks and alternatives before you decide.

Contact the clinic if you develop worsening pain, blistering, marked swelling or signs of infection. Results and recovery vary between individuals.

Consultation at TCMA in Surry Hills

ZO peel questions, answered

Does TCMA offer both ZO peels?

Yes. TCMA offers the ZO Stimulator Peel and ZO 3-Step Peel at 240 Riley Street, Surry Hills, Sydney. Your consultation helps establish which option fits your skin and goals.

What is the difference between the Stimulator and 3-Step Peel?

The Stimulator Peel is a superficial exfoliating treatment for dullness and rough texture, usually with little disruption to everyday activities. The 3-Step Peel provides more intensive resurfacing and involves preparation, aftercare and a period of visible peeling.

Will my skin visibly peel?

Significant visible peeling is not usually expected with the Stimulator Peel. Flaking and peeling are expected with the 3-Step Peel and can last several days. The amount of peeling is not a measure of how successful your treatment has been.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on the peel, your skin concerns and how your skin responds. We can discuss a single treatment, a course or maintenance within your wider plan. The two peels have different treatment intervals; we recommend a schedule after assessment.

Can a ZO peel help pigmentation or melasma?

A suitable peel may improve some forms of uneven pigmentation. Melasma needs a careful assessment and a broader management plan because irritation can worsen pigment. We assess the type of pigmentation before recommending a peel or an alternative.

Can I have a peel if I have darker skin?

Your skin tone, history of pigment changes and current skin condition help determine the peel and preparation. Post-inflammatory pigmentation is a risk, so suitability and aftercare are assessed individually.

How much does a ZO peel cost at TCMA?

The treatment fee depends on whether you have the Stimulator or 3-Step Peel and any preparation or aftercare required. We explain the costs before treatment. A Complexion Consultation with a dermal therapist requires a $100 deposit, redeemable against treatment only, not skincare products.

Can I have treatment at my consultation?

Treatment may be possible depending on suitability, preparation needs and appointment availability. The 3-Step Peel may require a preparation period first. Online bookings are appointment requests and the team will confirm your appointment.
