- 03Your options, explained plainly
When this is the right appointment
Some people come to us wanting to understand their whole face, their skin, and where to begin. Others arrive with something specific already in mind — one feature, one area, one question they have been turning over for a while.
The Focused Consultation is for the second group. It is shorter and narrower than a full strategy session by design. You bring one concern, Dr Chahal assesses it properly, and you leave understanding what is actually going on and what your options are.
There is no pressure to broaden the conversation, and no expectation that you proceed with anything.

What we can look at
This appointment is most often used to discuss cosmetic injectable options for a specific concern, or to ask about a particular treatment such as a laser or device. It may cover things such as:
- Lines and folds that have become more noticeable
- Changes in facial volume over time
- Proportion and balance between features
- Asymmetry you have become aware of
- The shape or definition of a single feature
- Skin laxity in one area
- A concern you have been told is not treatable
- A second opinion on advice received elsewhere
- Whether a particular treatment or device is suitable for you
In line with Australian advertising requirements for cosmetic procedures, this page does not name specific treatments, products or prescription medicines. Dr Chahal will discuss the options relevant to you, including their risks, during your consultation.
What happens in the appointment

You tell us what brought you in
What you have noticed, how long it has been on your mind, and what you would like to understand. If you have been told something about it before, tell us that too.
Dr Chahal assesses it
A proper clinical assessment of the area, in the context of your face as a whole, your medical history and any previous treatment you have had.
You get a straight answer
What is actually causing what you are seeing, whether it is something that can be addressed, and what the realistic options are — including the option of doing nothing.
You decide in your own time
If there is something appropriate, Dr Chahal will explain what it involves, the risks, the cost and the likely timeframe. Nothing is decided on the spot unless you want it to be.

What this appointment is not
- It is not a sales appointment. There is no target and no script
- It is not a commitment to treatment, now or later
- It is not a full facial assessment — if you want that, book a Strategy Session
- It is not a place where you will be told a concern is a problem if it is not one
Dr Chahal will tell you when the honest answer is that nothing needs doing, or that what you are asking about would not achieve what you are hoping for. Patients tend to find that more useful than agreement.
About the consultation fee
The Focused Consultation is $150, payable when you book. It covers Dr Chahal’s time and the assessment itself, and it is what allows this to be an appointment about your question rather than about a treatment.
Common questions
How long is the appointment?
Shorter than a full strategy session — it is scoped to one concern. The exact length is confirmed when you book.
Can I raise more than one thing?
You can, but this appointment is built around one. If it becomes clear you want a broader assessment, Dr Chahal will say so and we can move you to a Strategy Session rather than rush.
Will I be treated on the day?
Not necessarily, and never as a default. Whether anything is appropriate depends entirely on the assessment, and you are always free to go away and think about it.
Why does this page not name specific treatments?
Australian advertising rules for cosmetic procedures restrict what clinics may publish about certain treatments and medicines. We follow those rules. It means the specifics belong in the consultation, where they can be discussed properly and in the context of your own circumstances.
I have had treatment somewhere else and I am unhappy with it.
You are welcome to book. Bring whatever detail you have — what was done, when, and by whom if you know. Dr Chahal will give you an honest assessment of where things stand.
Is this suitable if I have never had anything done?
Yes. A focused consultation is often the least daunting way to start, precisely because it is narrow. You are not committing to a plan or a pathway.
