Microneedling works by creating thousands of tiny puncture wounds in the top layer of the skin, initiating the body’s natural healing process. This healing process includes the production of collagen and elastin, two abundant proteins in the body that are directly responsible for skin texture and tautness.

While SkinPen is considered safe for most people, typical side effects can include mild redness, swelling, and discomfort. These conditions are usually mild and resolve themselves within a day or two. Other issues, like infection, are also possible but rare and are much less likely when you are partnered with a highly trained and qualified aesthetic provider.

The number of treatments varies depending on individual skin concerns and desired outcomes, typically ranging from three to six sessions. You will likely see results after the first treatment, but the ideal outcomes begin to develop as you get deeper into the treatment regimen.
