A small cannula is passed under the skin to deliver radiofrequency energy directly to the tissue that has loosened. It sits between the devices that work through the skin and surgery, and it produces more change than the former and less than the latter.

A thin cannula is introduced through a very small entry point and passed beneath the skin. Radiofrequency energy is delivered between that internal probe and an external electrode, heating the fibrous layer under the skin so it contracts, and reducing small pockets of fat where present.
Because the energy is delivered under the skin rather than through it, considerably more of it reaches the target. That is why the result is more substantial than a surface device and why it needs local anaesthetic and real recovery.
It does not remove tissue or reposition it. If descent is significant, this will not deliver what surgery would, and we will say so.
These are contraction procedures performed under the skin. They sit between energy devices and surgery, and the choice between them is mostly about the size of the area.

Not appropriate for significant descent or heavy tissue. Those need a surgical opinion and we will refer.

Swelling, bruising, numbness, firmness and contour irregularity are all possible. Infection and burns are uncommon but are genuine risks of delivering energy under the skin. All of this is discussed in full before you consent.
We will not proceed where the honest answer is surgery, where skin quality is poor, or where expectations do not match what the procedure can deliver.

Local anaesthetic is used, so the procedure is tolerable. Soreness and tightness afterwards are expected for several days.
