Bio-Remodelling Injections

…Rebuilding Your Facial Aesthetic
There are many different types of injectable treatments on the market. Some of them focus on stopping muscle movements, while others aim to replace lost volume throughout the skin. Bio-remodelling injections, however, take a different approach: they focus on stimulating the body’s natural healing process to create noticeable changes in someone’s appearance.
By using a substance that can “damage” the underlying skin structure, the body floods the area with collagen, elastin, and other healing factors in an effort to repair the damage. This process can improve an array of different textural concerns in the skin.

Why Might Someone Consider Bio-Remodelling Injections?

Bio-remodelling injections are a niche treatment for people who are dealing with laxity-based textural concerns. This means any of the following that are caused primarily by weakened protein structures in the skin:
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • General skin laxity
If there are other primary causes, like volume loss, you may want to consider something else to better address those issues. During your consultation with TCMA, we will review your goals and evaluate how good of a fit bio-remodelling injections are. This treatment can be used on the face, neck, hands, and decolletage.

Are Bio-Remodelling Injections Right for Me?

Summary:
  • Are you experiencing skin laxity or other conditions caused by skin laxity?
  • Do you have realistic expectations about what this treatment can achieve?
  • Have you done ample amounts of research and have a clear understanding of the procedure?

As we mentioned previously, bio-remodelling injections are not ideal as a blanket treatment for signs of ageing. They are best used on those with skin laxity, specifically. So, if that fits your unique situation, you should consider this treatment as an option.

The best candidates are also those who have realistic expectations about what exactly these treatments can achieve. If you have done your due diligence — reviewed plenty of before and after photos and researched the treatment thoroughly — then you will prevent yourself from becoming disappointed by what would otherwise be considered a successful treatment.

Bio-remodelling injections can provide you with meaningful results, but you should always have a fair and accurate scale by which to measure your own improvements.

Understanding the Bio-Remodelling Injections Process

At our practice, our first and foremost goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and confident about the decision to have a treatment performed. We won’t encourage you to have anything done that you aren’t ready for or undergo any procedure that we don’t think will ultimately get you closer to your ideal results. – Dr Amy

A Consultation with The Centre for Medical Aesthetics

Summary:
  • We will determine the underlying cause of your ageing signs during your consultation.
  • Your consultation is your biggest chance to get clarity on the procedure.
  • Our priority is not to sign you up for a treatment, it is to guide you through your journey.
  • Even if you don’t sign up for treatment, we are here to help you find your way.

During your consultation, Dr Amy and the TCMA staff will thoroughly review your medical history and your skin health. Then, we will be able to determine what the underlying cause of your textural concerns are. If it is a good fit, we will recommend bio-remodelling injections to help combat skin laxity. We will not recommend it if we do not think it will help you.

This is because our goal is not to convince you to sign up for treatment and spend money on our practice. We are focused on providing you with a trustworthy hand through your aesthetic journey. This might mean recommending a different procedure or pointing you toward something over-the-counter that you can do without our help.

Just remember: your consultation is a huge resource for you on this path. Bring as many questions as you have and don’t worry about asking too many — our goal is to have you be as informed as possible as you go through the decision-making process. If you ultimately decide you don’t want to move forward, no problem. We will still be here for you the next time you are considering aesthetic care.

How to Prepare for Your Bio-Remodelling Injections

As a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure, the only preparations you need to make are avoiding abrasive skin treatments leading up to your procedure and staying out of the sun without sunscreen. If you do both of these, your experience will be much more enjoyable as you avoid unnecessary discomfort from the treatment.

The Bio-Remodelling Injections Process

Summary:
  • The targeted area will be thoroughly cleaned to help avoid infection.
  • Your team will place a small needle into your skin.
  • The injectable will be spread throughout your skin tissue.
  • This is a great option for people with busy schedules.
  • The entire process takes only about 30 minutes.

When you move back into the procedure room, we will start with thoroughly cleaning your skin to help prevent breakouts or infection. A topical numbing agent may be applied in some cases, but make sure to mention numbing to our team if you would like to consider it.

Once the skin is clean and the area has been numbed, a small needle will be inserted into your tissue and the serum will be released. This substance will create “injuries” in the skin that the body will react to by flushing it with collagen and elastin, tricking it into its recovery phase.

This entire process takes as little as 30 minutes, making it a great option for anyone with a busy schedule or packed calendar. Keep in mind that this treatment time can change for larger areas like the neck or decolletage.

Bio-Remodelling Injections Results

Bio-remodelling injections will last between six and 12 months, depending on your unique reaction to the treatment and the level of correction being made. You will begin to notice results after a couple of weeks when the skin has had a chance to go through the collagen production process. You will likely need to have some kind of maintenance treatment performed as the results start to wane. We will help you develop a treatment plan that will keep your results ideal.

Let’s Talk: Frequently Asked Questions

What Risks Are Associated with Bio-Remodelling Injections?

After receiving bio-remodelling injections, some patients might experience mild discomfort or tenderness at the sites of injection, a reaction that is generally brief and expected to resolve on its own within a few days. Alongside these sensations, other temporary side effects such as bruising, redness, and swelling at the injection points may also occur.

Are There Any Post-Treatment Instructions to Follow?

For the first six hours after your treatment, it’s best to avoid touching or putting any pressure on the treated spots to prevent irritation and ensure the solution settles correctly. Keeping the area clean is crucial, but remember to be gentle and hold off on applying any makeup or skincare products for the initial 24 hours. Sun protection is also key; try to keep sun exposure to a minimum and make applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen part of your daily routine, since UV rays can increase swelling, redness, and might even impact the treatment’s results.

What Is the Difference Between Bio-Remodelling, Collagen Stimulating, and Dermal Filler Injections?

These three treatments are all linked in some ways, but have different approaches to their improvements:
  • Dermal fillers aim to add volume to the skin with a substance that occurs naturally in the body known as hyaluronic acid. The specific formulation of hyaluronic acid is built to cater to volume increase over other benefits, although it still triggers collagen production to some degree.
  • Bio-remodelling injections also use hyaluronic acid, but the formulation is different than dermal fillers, allowing it to focus on triggering the body’s natural healing response and improving collagen and elastin production.
  • Collagen-stimulating injections also focus on triggering the body’s healing process and boosting collagen production, but they do so without the use of hyaluronic acid and can still potentially add some volume to the tissue.
