SkinCeuticals chemical peels use clinically proven acid blends to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin, accelerate cellular renewal and improve the appearance of uneven tone, congestion, dullness and early photoageing. Each peel is tailored to your skin’s needs following a professional assessment, ensuring the correct strength, formulation and layering technique for safe, predictable results.
There are many textural and tonal concerns that a chemical peel can address without the need for invasive treatment:

This is an introductory or superficial peel for people with sensitive skin or minor skin concerns.
This is an intermediate peel for people who are looking to address more significant discolouration.
This is a deep peel for people dealing with oily or congested skin and pores.
The chemical peel will cause the skin to become flaky and peel over the course of two to three days. Once this process has finished, though, the results of the chemical peel will reveal themselves, but even more improvement will occur over the course of several weeks as the healing process continues.
Many of our patients find improvements to both textural and tonal skin concerns. Results typically last for a few months, depending on your level of treatment and correction.
Chemical peels are treatments used to improve the skin’s appearance by removing its outer layers. They help reduce blemishes, fine lines, wrinkles, and enhance skin tone. During a peel, a specific amount of a chemical solution is applied to the skin. The amount used and how long it stays on your skin depends on the peel type, how strong it is, your skin type, and how your skin reacts.
The peel solution breaks down the bonds between dead skin cells on the surface, allowing them to be washed away. This reveals smoother, healthier skin beneath. Depending on the peel, it might stop working on its own or need to be washed off with a special solution or water to stop the reaction.
The aim of a chemical peel is to gently injure the skin in a controlled way, triggering the body’s natural healing response. When the skin heals, it is flooded with collagen, elastin, and other healing factors, granting it an improved appearance.
Superficial chemical peels might cause a tingling feeling on the skin, but this minor discomfort usually goes away once the peel is neutralized. A numbing cream might be used to ease the sensation during the treatment for deeper peels. Typically, patients who regularly use acid-based skincare products may find they better tolerate stronger peel formulations.
After a chemical peel, the skin can become red, resembling a mild sunburn, and this can last from three to five days for superficial peels. Medium to deep peels can cause more significant redness, swelling, and even blistering or peeling for about one to two weeks.
Applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily after a peel and limiting sun exposure is crucial to protect the newly sensitive skin and avoid sunburn or irritation. In some cases, over-the-counter pain medication can be used to mitigate the effects of the skin peel, but most of our patients are able to tolerate it with very little assistance.
