Why Might Someone Consider a Hydrafacial?

HydraFacial goes beyond traditional facials by utilizing a patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate the skin. It addresses a variety of skin concerns including:

  • Fine Lines
  • Uneven Skin Tone/Texture
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Oily and Congested Skin
  • Dryness and Dehydration
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Acne
  • Blackheads
  • Dull Skin
  • Sun Damage

If you’re experiencing any of these conditions, HydraFacial could be a treatment worth considering.

1
The most important part of figuring out whether you are a candidate for this procedure is to first take a look at your overall health. If you have any underlying skin conditions that react poorly to this type of suction-based treatment, we may need to consider other options.
2
Similarly, if you are exhibiting any rashes, sunburns, active rosacea, severe acne breakouts, or other similar types of skin concerns, it may be better to wait it out until you have had a chance to heal. Otherwise, you could be experiencing additional discomfort during your procedure.
3
Of course, you should only go through with HydraFacial treatment if you have a clear understanding of exactly what the treatment can achieve. It is not a surgical treatment, and when compared to surgical alternatives, HydraFacial results will seem limited.
4
But, if you have looked at plenty of before and after photos of people similar to you, and you are happy with what those patients have achieved, then it is likely that you will be a good fit for this treatment.

Is HydraFacial Right for Me?

Summary:

  • Do you have preexisting conditions that might react poorly to treatment?
  • Do you have any rashes, sunburns, active rosacea, or other temporary concerns?
  • Are you experiencing textural or tonal skin concerns you would like to treat?
  • Do you have realistic expectations about what HydraFacial can achieve?
  • Have you looked into exactly the kinds of results HydraFacial can provide?

Understanding the HydraFacial Process

At our practice, our first and foremost goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and confident about the decision to have a treatment performed. We won’t encourage you to have anything done that you aren’t ready for or undergo any procedure that we don’t think will ultimately get you closer to your ideal results.

A Consultation with The Centre for Medical Aesthetics

Summary:

  • Rest assured our goal is to guide you, not sell you on treatment.
  • Make the most of your consultation and take your time through the process.
  • We are your aesthetic partner even if you don’t sign up for treatment.
1
We want you to feel comfortable at TCMA, which is why we put such importance on making sure you know that our goal as your medical aesthetic partner isn’t to sell you on as many treatments as possible. Our goal isn’t even really to sell you on one treatment.
2
Our focus is guiding you through your aesthetic journey, and if we do not think HydraFacial is not a good fit for your goals, then we won’t recommend it. We would be happy to help you find an alternative, though — even if that alternative isn’t a treatment you need to sign up for.
3
It’s important to be as informed as possible so that you can ultimately make the best decision about how you would like to proceed. We recommend keeping a list of all of your questions and concerns and bringing them with you during your consultation. We will be happy to go through all of them and get all the details ironed out so that you are thoroughly educated.
4
Remember, even if you don’t sign up for HydraFacial now, we are still here for you if you have any other questions or start to consider a different treatment down the line.

How to Prepare for Your HydraFacial

There is no extensive preparation process for HydraFacial. You can simply come with a clean and prepared face on the day of your treatment. We do, however, recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure, waxing, depilatory creams, or other harsh skin treatments in the days leading up to your treatment since they can make your procedure or recovery much more uncomfortable.

The HydraFacial Process

Summary:

  • Step 1 exfoliates the surface layer of the skin.
  • Step 2 loosens deeper debris found in the pores.
  • Step 3 extracts blackheads, acne, and other pollutants.
  • Step 4 infuses customised serums to improve skin health.

HydraFacial treatment can be broken up into the four following steps:

Step 1: Exfoliation
This step entails a gentle exfoliation of the surface layer of the skin, which removes dead cells and other debris from the tissue. Many patients are able to see an improvement immediately after this step since general dullness and flakiness can have powerful impacts on skin appearance.
Step 2: Cleansing
In this step, a mix of cleansing substances is added to the device and pulled around the face. This begins loosening deeper debris and unclogging pores for a more thorough cleanse. Patients are always surprised to see how much underlying debris we are able to remove.
Step 3: Extraction
The next step uses suction to gently pull away the contents of blackheads and other acne throughout the face. Unlike manual extraction, the HydraFacial device uses moderate vortex suction which causes very mild, sometimes negligible discomfort.
Step 4: Infusion
After extraction is complete, we will add a mix of hydrating serums rich in antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid, a chemical found naturally in the body. This serum can be customised to your exact skin needs, making it a highly tailored treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of a Hydrafacial treatment varies depending on the specific needs and treatment plan of each individual. For accurate pricing, we recommend scheduling a consultation at The Centre for Medical Aesthetics and referencing the table of pricing above. Typically, you will expect to pay between $299 and $369 for Hydrafacial treatment.

Hydrafacial is known for being safe with minimal risks, especially when performed by a qualified professional. Some may experience mild redness or tightness immediately after the treatment, but these effects are typically short-lived and resolve quickly. It is also possible that you may experience a rare phenomenon known as “purging,” which is an immediate breakout after the treatment caused by the sudden surfacing of deeply settled debris in the pores.

You should do your best to avoid excessive sun or UV exposure by using an SPF 30 sunscreen (or higher). After your treatment, the skin will be particularly sensitive since a fresh layer was revealed, so you should also avoid harsh skincare products like retinol, acids, or deep exfoliating ingredients.

The frequency of Hydrafacial treatments typically depends on your specific skin needs and goals. Generally, it is recommended to have a Hydrafacial every four to six weeks to maintain skin health and appearance.

Hydrafacial is generally considered safe during pregnancy with some modifications, but it’s always important to consult with your healthcare provider and our aesthetic professionals before undergoing any skincare treatments while pregnant.

Because Hydrafacial tackles many aspects of skin health all at once, many patients experience a “glow,” or a feeling that their skin looks noticeably healthier and brighter from the many improvements that occur.
