Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty (Liquid Nose Job)

Rhinoplasty is the traditional approach to changing the aesthetic of a nose, but as a surgical treatment, it requires a lot of preparation, cost, recovery, and risk. On the other hand, nonsurgical rhinoplasty has a much easier recovery and risk profile than the traditional surgical approach. Although it is not a surgical procedure, it is …

Why Might Someone Consider a Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty?

As a direct alternative to surgery, nonsurgical rhinoplasty, also known as a liquid nose job, is a treatment we are enamored to provide to our clients since it allows them an opportunity to make meaningful changes to their appearances. Specifically, nonsurgical rhinoplasty can help adjust:

  • General nasal size and shape
  • Nostril size and shape
  • Nasal bridge size and shape
  • Nasal tip size and projection
  • Deviated septum or asymmetry
  • A dorsal hump

If you have a concern about the appearance of your nose that you don’t think is covered here, don’t worry — during your consultation we can review your goals and see if your desired results are achievable.

The most important consideration you can make is whether or not you are hoping to achieve surgical-level results from this procedure. As a minimally invasive treatment, the results we can achieve through nonsurgical rhinoplasty will always be more reserved than surgery since we do not change the underlying structure of the nose. This also means that size reduction is not possible, but sometimes we are able to create the illusion of a smaller nose, or a more symmetrical one.
While this comes with a host of benefits, it also means that you should temper your expectations to have a realistic view of your outcomes. Look at plenty of before and after photos and read up on the treatment first to make sure the level of change is what you are looking for.
If you have ever had a poor reaction to dermal fillers or injectables or have preexisting conditions that will add additional risk to the procedure and recovery, this treatment may not be a good fit. Luckily, the list of preexisting conditions that could interfere is low, but you should always discuss your entire medical history with us first so that we can make sure it is safe to continue with the treatment.

Understanding the Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty Process

At our practice, our first and foremost goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and confident about the decision to have a treatment performed. We won’t encourage you to have anything done that you aren’t ready for or undergo any procedure that we don’t think will ultimately get you closer to your ideal results.

A Consultation with The Centre for Medical Aesthetics

Summary:

  • Our goal is to help you with your journey, not sell you on a treatment.
  • Your consultation is a valuable tool, make sure to make the most of it.
  • Even if you don’t sign up for treatment, we are here to support you.
We want to be clear about our priority as a medical aesthetic provider: we are here to support you on your journey, not sell you on any individual procedure or treatment plan. If we do not think a treatment will provide you with the results you want, we won’t recommend it.
But we will also be happy to suggest alternatives, even if that alternative is over-the-counter for which you don’t need to sign up with us. In the future, if you are reconsidering nonsurgical rhinoplasty, or are looking into something else entirely, we will still be here to help you figure out what is best for you.
When you come in for your consultation, set yourself up to make the most of it by keeping a list of your questions and concerns. Whether it’s a piece of paper or a note on your phone, having those prepared means you will not forget to ask any important questions and be as informed as possible as you decide whether you want to move forward.

The Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty Process

  • A topical anesthetic is applied to relieve potential pain or discomfort if required
  • A safe compound is placed into the nasal tissue to attain your desired look.
  • The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
  • A review is conducted at 2 weeks and any adjustments required are made
The process for this procedure is relatively straightforward. It begins with the application of a topical anesthetic that will numb your skin to reduce any pain or discomfort you might experience during the process. Once the anesthetic has kicked in, we will inject small amounts into the tissue to create your preferred appearance.
The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes to complete, but it can go a little longer or shorter depending on the amount of correction being made and your unique conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is considered a safe procedure by the medical community, but, as is the case with all procedures and treatments, there are always risks to consider. Redness, soreness, tenderness, and irritation are normal and typically mild, but more serious complications, like fever, blurred vision, and even vision loss, can also occur in rare cases.

A deviated septum occurs when the thin wall of cartilage and bone separating your nostrils, called the nasal septum, shifts significantly to one side. This deviation can cause an unbalanced appearance in the nasal structure. While some people are born with a deviated septum, it can also be caused by an injury to the nose. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty can help create symmetry in those who have a deviated septum.
